Steve Bornstein

Steve Bornstein Steven Bornstein has been the President and CEO of NFL Network since January 2003. Prior to taking over the helm of NFL Television, Bornstein served as president of ABC Television, overseeing ABC Television Network, ABC’s 10 owned television stations, Touchstone Television and Buena Vista Television, a provider of syndicated television programming.

Bornstein has been the driving force behind the development of numerous cable, broadcast and online businesses operated by divisions of The Walt Disney Company. He has served as chairman of Walt Disney Internet Group, where he implemented groundbreaking initiatives in Enhanced TV, interactive online content and wireless applications. He also has served as president of ABC, Inc., and, before that, he played a leading role in the unparalleled success of ESPN. During his tenure as ESPN president and CEO from 1990 to 1999, Bornstein led the company through a highly active period of network development and brand extension. This included the launches of ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPN Classic and ESPN Radio; global expansion to numerous countries in their local languages; and various strategic acquisitions – all establishing ESPN, Inc., as the worldwide leader in sports entertainment and sports news. The company also pioneered the Internet’s first sports Website, ESPN.com.

A 1974 graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications, Bornstein is a recipient of the prestigious Vanguard Award for programmers, one of the highest honors given by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association.

James Allegro

Jim Allegro

James Allegro simultaneously held the positions of Executive Vice President Operations and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at ESPN from 1990 until his retirement in 1995. Mr. Allegro served on the ESPN Board of Directors from 1986 until 1997. Mr. Allegro combined extensive television and financial experience with an entrepreneurial spirit to help build ESPN.

Prior to joining ESPN, Mr. Allegro spent 14 years with Capital Cities/ABC, Inc., serving as Senior Vice President, Network Group for the ABC Television Network Group where he coordinated various operations with the Entertainment Broadcast Operations and Engineering, News and Sports Divisions.

Mr. Allegro joined ABC in 1977 as Vice President of ABC Publishing, and two years later, was named a Senior Vice President. In 1981, he became Vice President Finance and Administration for ABC Owned Television Stations and in 1985, Vice President Operations for that division. He was appointed to Senior Vice President of the Broadcasting Group in 1986. Mr. Allegro has been a consultant to ESPN from 1995 to 2002 primarily advising on the ESPY Awards Show. He served as the Executive Producer of that show from 1993 – 1995. Involved in numerous charities, he is most proud of his involvement with the V Foundation where he heads the financing committee for the charity dedicated to cancer research.

After graduating from Holy Cross College, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and later attended the Graduate School of Business at Boston College.

Robert Lloyd

Bob Lloyd

An extremely successful businessman and basketball player, Bob Lloyd has served as chairman of the board for The V Foundation since 1994. 

He was named Sports Humanitarian of the Year in 2005 by the New Jersey Sports Writers Association, as well as being selected to the organization's Hall of Fame. 

Rutgers’ first basketball All-America honoree as a senior in 1967, Lloyd went on to play two seasons of professional basketball with the New York Nets before embarking on a business career. 

Lloyd was the chairman and CEO of Mindscape, a developer and publisher of entertainment, educational and reference consumer software for personal computers, from 1990-95. He spent the following two years as the company’s non-executive chairman of the board. 

Before taking over as chairman and CEO at Mindscape, Lloyd served as president and CEO of Data East, Inc., from 1982-90. He previously worked as senior vice president of sales and marketing at Curley-Bates, Inc., and as vice president of sales and manager of market planning and research for Spalding Sports Company. Lloyd began his business career as a district representative for General Electric. 

During his All-America basketball career, Lloyd averaged 26.5 points per game, still a Rutgers record. He led the nation with a .921 free throw percentage in 1966-67, making 255 of 277 attempts. In 1987, Lloyd became the first Rutgers athlete to have his jersey retired.

Fern Mandelbaum 

Fern Mandelbaum

Fern Mandelbaum is a Partner with Monitor Ventures. Fern is an accomplished entrepreneur and CEO who specializes in creating and growing technology focused businesses. 

She was has worked with CEOs helping them develop and refine their business concepts, recruit management teams, key advisors and board members, implement fund raising strategies and establish strategic alliances. Her portfolio includes: New Vine Logistics, Case Central, Informative, NapaStyle, WetFeet, and LiveAdvice (merged with Keen). Fern was co-founder and CEO of Skyline Products. Under her leadership, Skyline achieved annual growth in excess of 200% and was successfully sold to IDEO Product Development. Prior to co-founding Skyline, Fern worked at SRI International, HP, the Kyoto Bank and Bain and Company. 

Fern received her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and her BA in Economics from Brown University.
